After 6 long years apart, Karen, her housemate, and 2 team members from Llandilo went on a special road trip to visit Karen’s mum Kay in Inverell. The long distance—a 7-hour drive—had kept them apart since Kay is elderly and no longer drives. On the way, they made a stop at South West Rocks, exploring Trial Bay Gaol and Sandy Cape Lighthouse. They enjoyed lunch at the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour and visited the Australian Standing Stones in Glen Innes.
In Inverell, Karen and Kay spent 2 wonderful days together sharing dinners, visiting the Pioneer Village, shopping, and relaxing at Kay’s home in Bukkulla. Kay was delighted to see how happy Karen is and was deeply thankful for the chance to finally be with her daughter again.
At Achieve Australia, we do more than provide safe homes and specialised care. We support people to live the lives they choose, and that includes bringing families together to create cherished moments and lasting memories.
