Do you a have a large stash of fabric and are wondering how you can make use of it? The world of basketry offers rich rewards - a chance to work with your hands and create with purpose, whilst creating something visually beautiful.

In this mini workshop you will be shown how with just a few pieces of fabric remnants and simple hand stitching, a gorgeous basket can be formed. Guidance is provided to start a small, coiled basket with the skills to complete your basket at home. All workshop materials are included and a socially inclusive and supportive environment welcomes all levels of ability.

Creative Mending Workshop

Join The Sewing Basket Caringbah for an after-hours in-store event dedicated to creative mending. The team of volunteers and staff will guide participants through the process of repairing a garment they've brought along. Whether you’re looking to mend a pull or hole in a knitted item, cover a stain with a patch or repair a tear in jeans, they’ll be able to help.

Participants learn a range of simple, useful techniques, including the blanket stitch, whip stitch, and half back stitch - perfect for repairing, concealing flaws, or adding a personal touch. All tools and materials will be provided including threads, fabrics, patches, and embellishments.
