Volunteering at Achieve takes place at our social enterprise, The Sewing Basket. The Sewing Basket comprises a warehouse and store in Kincumber on the Central Coast and stores in Balmain and Newington. A new store at Caringbah is also looking for volunteers. The Sewing Basket outlets are staffed by people with disability as supported employees and our volunteers.
The stores are a treasure trove of quality fabrics, patterns, sewing supplies, patchwork, embroidery materials, yarns, and more. All our stock has been donated and can include unique and vintage items. It's heaven for sewing and craft enthusiasts.
Volunteers mentor our supported employees to build valuable work skills. Our volunteers love sharing their knowledge and giving back to the community. The team also shares friendships and the enjoyment of helping customers find just the right thing.
