We are closely monitoring COVID-19 and our team is doing everything possible to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of the people we support, our staff and the community.
We are working closely with health authorities to determine the best course of action and are ready to respond to changing circumstances. We are also working to ensure staff are fully supported in their roles during this time.
We are providing regular communication updates to clients, families, our staff and any visitors to Achieve as new information becomes available. Regular updates will also be posted on our website and via our social media channels.
A working party of operations and nursing staff has been assembled at Achieve to provide monitoring, advice and guidance on how to plan, prepare and respond in the event of a COVID-19 outbreak. We are also working closely with the health authorities and following their guidance and recommendations.
An Infection Control Incident Response Team has been created at Achieve. This means that if an outbreak of COVID-19 occurs at any Achieve home or site, a special taskforce from across the organisation, including nurses and Clinical Nurse Educators, will be sent to the outbreak site.
The Response Team will assist on site staff in directing services, take necessary actions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients and staff, and help contain any further spread of the virus.
All visitors must fill in a Visitor Health Declaration Form upon entry and continue to wash their hands or use a hand sanitiser before entering homes or sites. The form will ask visitors to declare whether they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 on arrival and whether they have travelled overseas or to any hotspot locations in recent times.
