A group from Achieve Australia are amongst those taking part in the Casino Fun Run on 17 September and are so excited they started their preparation today (Saturday 24 August) by checking out the course together.

Achieve Australia Service Manager Tim Miller says the Casino Fun Run is a great way to spend a Sunday. The group taking part are a mix of people with disability and support staff -with all primed to have a great day.

“For us, Casino is a wonderfully welcoming place to live and no doubt that community spirit will be on full display as we line up to take part in the 10th anniversary fun run,” Tim says.

“Achieve is all about bringing inclusion to life for the people we support. Our clients share a great sense of belonging to Casino and are keen to be a part of this important community event. They love to be part of the action whenever Casino comes together,” Tim says.

Tim and the team have another connection to the fun run. Casino Fun Run co-founder, 2 x Paralympian and diversity advocate, Katie Kelly OAM, is a member of the Achieve Australia Board. Katie co-founded the Casino Fun Run with Scott Wescott, a 2016 Olympian.

Katie heads the Sport Access Foundation which is dedicated to delivering safe and inclusive sporting events for all.

“We congratulate Katie and everyone behind the scenes at the Casino Fun Run and wish them a happy 10th anniversary. It’s a great event that we will continue to support,” Tim said.
