My Life, My Say. Learn the skills to live independently, confidently, and on your own terms. 

My Life, My Say is a life-skills learning program co-designed by young people with disability, their families and staff that support them. The program gives young people aged 18 to 30 the skills to build confidence, make friends and develop practical skills for everyday life. The program focuses on real-world learning, self-determination, social and emotional development, and supportive teaching.

What you’ll learn

Participants take part in short, practical courses

that support everyday independence and social participation. 

Building relationships, using public transport and communication skills
Money and budgeting, self-advocacy and moving out of home

Delivered at Achieve’s Community and Lifestyle Hubs in:

Casino, Como, Epping, Haberfield

Program outcomes

An external evaluation of the pilot program found that participants experienced meaningful growth in three key areas:

Alignment with NDIS goals

My Life, My Say supports NDIS goals linked to independence, communication, social participation and personal development. It can contribute to outcomes in areas such as improved daily living and increased social and community participation by building skills that help people live life their way.
