We offer a great range of living, learning and achieving programs through our Day Programs to support people to build meaningful life-long skills and connections to the community.
Participants can engage in activities such as sports, recreational activities, visual and performing arts, music, literacy and numeracy development, as well as other education and training courses. The programs are facilitated by our staff and encourage a life of learning and achieving. These activities generally operate during weekdays at our own facility or at an off-site location.
Service Access
To access our Day Programs you either need to:
have a pre-approved funding package in place from NSW Human Services, Ageing, Disability and HomeCare (ADHC)
or
purchase this service directly from Achieve Australia on a fee-for-service basis
We can assist you to transition from school or even from your existing service to ours in a staged, careful way.
If we have a vacancy, arrangements are negotiated with NSW Human Services, Ageing, Disability and HomeCare (ADHC) about how you may be able to fill this vacancy.
Day Programs generally operate during weekday daytime hours, though we are investigating how we can assist people to pursue their goals at other times.
Upon joining our Day Programs, your needs will be assessed and an Individual Plan developed.
Our Activities
People attending the Day Programs are supported in groups (e.g. art classes) and on a one-to-one basis.
The social connections you will make with your peers are a significant aspect of the program’s success. We will help you meet other people and build relationships with them so that spending time together while learning and enjoying various activities is an enjoyable experience.
Helping to establish friendships with others in the community is a key aim of the program. Achieve Australia is visible and active within the business community, making connections which ‘smooth the way’ and create linkages which can be leveraged for the benefit of the person supported.
As part of the program, if you want to volunteer for Meals on Wheels, do a yoga class, or learn to go to a café with a friend for coffee, we’ll investigate the opportunities in your local area and make the connection with the business.
