Novartis Community Partnership Day - 15 April 2011

To commemorate the 15^th anniversary of the global Novartis Community Partnership Day, thousands of Novartis associates worldwide committed to helping others and volunteering in their local communities. The annual event occurs across over 50 countries and this year a group of Australian associates chose to volunteer with Achieve Australia on 15 April 2011.

Thirty-one corporate volunteers were assigned across Crowle Home and two homes of people we support in Eastwood and Waitara to assist with gardening, painting and overall site maintenance. The weather was perfect and there was plenty of positive feedback.

“Seeing the joy on the faces of the people, who really appreciated what was done, was fantastic,” said a volunteer who worked on one of the home gardens. “We worked as a team and there was nothing too big or small that we weren’t afraid of tackling.”

One of the corporate volunteers who worked at Crowle Home said “The long term (Achieve Australia) volunteers who looked after us were great. They were very passionate about what they do at Achieve and keen to spread the message about the good work they do…Sending in our team helped them do jobs, which would normally have taken weeks, get done in a day. It was great to be part of this as it was such a positive experience and what we did was really appreciated.”
